Carnegie Hall is a world-renown concert venue and cultural landmark, located in New York City. Established in the 1890's, its history is rich with iconic performances by classical and popular musicians, orchestras, and ensembles.
Assemble™ partnered with Synoptic Office and Carnegie Hall's Archives team to build an online Timeline of African American Music using Next, D3 and Twill CMS. The project is based on research by Dr. Portia K. Maultsby, showcasing the rich cultural contributions of African American musicians and their impact on American music and global culture. By documenting these pivotal moments, the timeline serves as an educational tool, celebrating the resilience, creativity, and innovation of African American music through the ages.
